He is constantly looking for himself, and his shadowy parts show themselves as they are. Light offers man a chance to relate to himself, in order to know and examine himself and to understand what he really is.
We are alone in front of our own self; we are aware that we are unique in a world populated by other unique and alone beings. In a sense, loneliness is a necessary experience, inextricably connected to the human condition.
Our own individuality dictates our loneliness. We are individuals with our own liberty to be and express ourselves.
